Video On Little Known American Composer

Here is an interesting video on a little known american composer who has a different take on music and how it should be constructed. His name is Millard Leland, and he specializes in a sort of improvised piano music. According to this documentary he lives in Mexico. Ive never heard of him but he reminds me of a few of the more out there composers that I have listened to.

I love his piece March of the Windmills. Im not sure whether this is all a joke or not. But if he really plays something like that for people then that's pretty awesome.

Site for Composer Jobs

Any music composers or producers out there should take a look at this posting site for composer jobs. They post free listings of people who are working on a film and need someone to score it. It looks like a number of them are unpaid, which is to be expected, but some of them are also for money so that is good.

This is why it is important to have good quality work to show and why you should limit what you release to only your best stuff. You never know who might be looking around and if you have some mediocre work out there it will not make a good impression in this highly competitive world. Quality will win out in the long run so concentrate on that and try to take advantage of these free sites when you can.
